The Migrant Education Program

The Migrant Education Program supports children and youth of migratory agricultural workers and fishers, who may experience frequent moves, interrupted schooling, and language barriers. Georgia Fugees Academy Charter School works with the Georgia Department of Education’s Migrant Education Program Office to identify students who qualify.

Families complete a Migrant Education Occupational Survey during enrollment, and eligibility is verified by the state. Eligible students and families may receive tutoring and supplemental instruction, English language development support, school supplies, health and nutrition referrals, summer or afterschool programming, and translation and interpretation.
