The health, safety, and well-being of our students are essential to their success. This section provides information about school health services, wellness resources, safety procedures, student support programs, and important policies that help create a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment.
To ensure the health of school-going children, Georgia requires students to be vaccinated for specific diseases before attending school. A valid certificate of immunization (Form 3231) or a notarized Affidavit of Religious Objection to Immunization is required for enrollment. This applies to all students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
Students in seventh grade or eleventh grade, new students to Georgia, students returning to a Georgia school after being away for more than one school year, and students enrolling after attending a private school must present a valid Certificate of Immunization.
Parents and guardians should review the Summary of Georgia Immunization Requirements for Child Care and School Attendance at the Georgia Department of Public Health to ensure that their students are in compliance.
Water safety education helps students develop the knowledge and skills needed to recognize water hazards and practice safe behaviors around pools, lakes, rivers, and other bodies of water. Families can find resources through the YMCA Safety Around Water program, water safety at home guidance, and local swimming lesson providers.
In accordance with Georgia law, GFACS maintains at least two employees trained in diabetes care to support students with diabetes, and works with families to develop a diabetes medical management plan.

In accordance with Georgia law, GFACS provides seizure recognition and first aid training to school personnel, including transportation personnel where applicable, and maintains seizure action plans for students with a diagnosed seizure disorder. Families of students with a seizure disorder should contact [ name, email, phone ] to establish a seizure action plan.
In accordance with Georgia law, the school provides information and resources regarding the signs, symptoms, and risks associated with sudden cardiac arrest. Families can access educational materials, required forms, and participation requirements for applicable student activities in this section.
